Beer began her career as a singer in the 1950s, performing in cabarets and nightclubs in Paris. She made her film debut in 1960 in the French comedy La Vie à Deux. She went on to appear in numerous French and international films, including The Longest Day, The Train, and The Day of the Jackal. In addition to her acting career, Beer has also released several albums of her own music. Her most recent album, Jacqueline Beer Chante, was released in 2018. Beer has been married twice, first to actor Jean-Claude Brialy and then to actor Jean-Pierre Marielle. She has two children, a son and a daughter.
